Occasional Work is a Copenhagen/Amsterdam-based graphic design studio working across contemporary art, literature, and culture, interested in language as a material medium through typography and image. Our practice is focused on design, editorial work, and publishing, applied to different formats: books, printed matter, visual identity systems and events.

Our name is borrowed from the poet and writer Lisa Robertson’s book Occasional Work and Seven Walks from the Office for Soft Architecture. We cite this work in our manifesto titled We begin with pigment or juice, addressing thoughts on collective work in June 2026.
